Raise funds for your school with school calendars

Just as the weather has at last decided to turn summery, the children are due back at school soon.  Time for parents to get new school uniforms, books and pens at the ready, and time for schools to prepare for the new term.

An essential part of every school’s agenda is fundraising - allowing the purchase of important equipment like computers and other teaching aids, and supporting activities like school trips, art projects, sports days, etc.  Many schools, though, find raising money a struggle and are looking for different tools to help them achieve their goals.

School calendars are a great tool to use as part of your school’s fundraising activities.  They can be personalised with the school’s logo and colours and feature special dates like parents evenings, sports days and non-pupil days.  Creating designs for the individual calendar leaves might even prove a fun project for the pupils.

A school calendar acts as a useful reminder of important days throughout the year - to both parents and teachers.  Most parents will quite happily buy one, especially if it has been customised to be as useful as possible and maybe even contains some of their child’s work, like a drawing.

It is worth pointing out that school calendars can easily be created to run in line with the academic year, i.e. from September to the following summer, and they don’t necessarily have to contain only 12 months.

School's out soon

Where has the first half of the year gone?  With the academic year drawing to a close within the next few weeks, many schools will already be thinking of and preparing for the new term, starting in the autumn.

One important part of any school’s agenda these days is fundraising – raising much needed cash for planned activities and essential equipment.  A personalised calendar can be just the right tool for this.  Easy to create and even a potential project for the pupils, school calendars can be sold to teachers, parents and relatives, raising funds for the school in the process.  The calendars can be personalised with the school’s logo, as well as its unique events like parents evenings and non-pupil days, important information for any parent to have to hand throughout the year.  Even the dates for the school play and sports day can be marked, so that parents can make arrangements well in advance in order not to miss those important events in their child’s life.

The true personalisation, though, comes with the insertion of a school’s own photographs or pictures.  Group photos of the pupils in different years or images of paintings and drawings they have created make each calendar a unique item, ideal also as a gift.  The creation of designs for different calendar leaves might even provide a great fun project for the pupils.  To increase its usefulness, a school calendar can easily be designed to run in line with the academic year, i.e. starting in September of one year and running to August the next.
