Get walking! That’s the message the Ramblers Charity will be promoting on Saturday, 30th May 2009, which will be National Get Walking Day for the second time, after a successful 1st event last year. The pastime of walking enjoys ever more popularity amongst people of every age, not least due to the current economic climate, which is prompting many of us to holiday at home instead of abroad. The beauty of the British countryside is world famous and has been captured in many ways, from books and illustrated maps to stunning calendars, featuring images of locations famous for their outstanding scenery.
