F1’s Fernando Alonso stays with Ferrari

19.05.11 in Sport

Breaking news in the world of motorsport: two-time world champion Alonso has just extended his contract with constructor Ferrari for a further five seasons.

Having come onboard with the Italians last year, and although originally only signed up until 2012, Alonso’s new contract means he will now be with Ferrari until at least the 2016 season. In an interview he said he felt “happy and privileged” to be staying with his “second family” for the foreseeable future and that he has no doubts he will end up “finishing his F1 career in this relationship”.

We hope that our British drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, make equally strategic moves as they battle global competition from Germany’s Sebastian Vettel as well as Australian Mark Webber and Spaniard Alonso.

The next race on the F1 calendar is Alonso’s home run in Catalunya on Sunday 22nd May, where he will no doubt receive a warm welcome. Can he make it a home victory, though?

Whoever wins this year's drivers championship will probably be featured in our next Motor Sport calendar - an impressive advertising tool, not just for F1 fans.

Three things to do this Sunday afternoon (except for the obvious)

25.06.10 in Sport
Where are you going to be this Sunday afternoon? Now that England are through to the final 16 in the World Cup, our guess is in the vicinity of a large visual display unit, holding a chilled beverage!

But then again, maybe you are not a football supporter and don’t understand what the hype is all about. If that’s the case, don’t be afraid to be different and enjoy the afternoon your own way!

Here is our guide to the three best ways to spend your Sunday afternoon, football-free:

Go for a bike ride.
The weather forecast is great and the roads will never have been quieter! Pack a picnic and enjoy a ride through your local villages and countryside.

Watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Though it is on a couple of hours before the football, watching the Valencia race will give you your sport fix for the day. It’s a tight match at the top, so the race should make for interesting viewing. Can Hamilton score a hat trick by winning three races in succession?

Do your food shopping.
Possibly not a very exciting prospect but, again, never will the aisles at your local supermarket have been quieter, especially on a Sunday afternoon (normally reserved for last minute shopping chaos).

We at Rose Calendars will be supporting our boys and are keeping our fingers crossed - let’s just hope it doesn’t come to penalties!
Go, England!

Help your customers keep track of the World Cup with our Football Planner

19.04.10 in Sport

The FIFA World Cup 2010 is on our doorstep – well, not literally, as it is being hosted in South Africa this time, but it’s less than two months now until kick-off! Time to get the office sweepstake underway.

We have just the ticket for this: our handy Football Planner, A3 in size, is the perfect advertising medium to promote your company in the run-up to and during the World Cup. It’s safe to say that, as a nation, we are football mad and what better way to acknowledge that than tailoring your advertising methods to the event.

Suitable for any business type, our Football Planner, carrying your advertisement, can be handed out in person or left on the shop counter for customers to help themselves to. Alternatively, as it fits the Royal Mail Large Letter format when folded in half, it can be mailed out inexpensively or added to order acknowledgements, sales invoices and other correspondence.

Available from as little as 37 pence including a full colour ad, how can you afford to miss out on this topical chance to promote your business on your clients’ and prospects’ walls?

Please contact us now for more information and to place your order. Please note that special rates are available on the Football Planner if your calendar order is placed at the same time (helpfully, your promotional calendars only get invoiced when you require them later in the year).

Now all that remains to be seen is how well we do in the tournament – fingers crossed!

Action-packed start to the F1 Motor Sport season

15.03.10 in Sport

Do you also find the F1 season has come around really quickly this year? Maybe it’s because we have had such a long winter. In any case, it was good to see yesterday’s first Grand Prix of the season offering a fair bit of excitement, with new rules, a different starting line up than expected, Michael Schumacher coming out of retirement, the late Ayrton Senna’s nephew Bruno making his F1 debut, etc.

And what a result: a one-two for Ferrari and Hamilton in 3rd place. Not a bad bit of Sunday afternoon entertainment!

Watching the action unfold on screen made me think of work. Honestly! Well, it made me think of one of my favourite calendar titles we produce here at Rose Calendars: Motor Sport. It covers F1, World Rally, BTC and Indy Car to name but a few and contains some really striking images of four-wheeled action. I’m sure that any motor sport fan would love to have this calendar on their wall and it’s been a firm favourite of mine.

If you would like to advertise your business with promotional calendars with a difference, why not take a look at Motor Sport. Though I know that not everyone can be as big an adrenalin junkie as me. Maybe golf or hiking are more your thing. Just browse our 2011 calendars for a complete list of all the pictorial calendars we offer - I’m sure you will find a title that grabs your attention.

Any business promotion has to do just that: grab the recipient’s attention. Our high quality promotional calendars certainly deliver on that count because they are such a powerful and highly visible marketing tool.

Why calendars? Find out what else calendars offer that other methods of advertising can’t.

Here is to an exciting F1 season ahead! Who’s your money on this year?

Let it snow!?

11.02.10 in Sport

Here in Britain, we are once again battling the elements, with a new cold spell having hit many of us this week. Of course, we are not prepared for the white stuff here, which means chaos quickly prevails: schools shut, trains stop, the media warn against non-essential travel...you get the picture.

On the other side of the world, we find a very different picture: as British Columbia in Canada is experiencing an unusually mild winter, the organisers of this year’s Winter Olympics are desperate for more snow and have been going to great lengths to create artificial snow and move the existing snow to different locations, ready for the start of the event tomorrow.

Which goes to show that there is just no pleasing everyone.

The same can be said of the promotional products industry: whereas one business loves to promote their products or services via cheap novelty pens that glow in the dark or key rings that double up as whistles or bottle openers, others opt for more sophisticated items such as quality pens or even golf accessories. Something all those items have in common, though, is their mostly very small advertising space and fairly short exposure. After all, don't most of the pens you receive as gifts end up in your desk drawer? And when was the last time you played golf?

Promotional calendars on the other hand offer much more: they have a large advertising area for your corporate message and enjoy a long shelf life of a whole year, something most other promotional items can’t offer. In addition, they are useful and an essential item for every workplace, making them a practical gift, too.

Here at Rose Calendars, we have such a large choice of 2011 calendars available - from different shapes to a variety of themes - that we would like to think we might be able to please (almost) everyone after all.

If you would like to learn more about how promotional calendars can offer very cost effective advertising for your business, too, please contact us. We would love to help you choose a title that is right for your business promotion.

And as for the snow - let's hope it falls where it's needed the most!

Jenson's done it!

02.11.09 in Sport

It’s not exactly news – as he had already secured the title and didn’t even have to finish yesterday’s last F1 Grand Prix race on the fabulous new track in Abu Dhabi – but Jenson Button is now officially the new F1 World Champion. Two British champions in as many years, that’s certainly something to be proud of!

Many staff members at Rose Calendars are avid motorsport fans and have been following Jenson’s progress during the season, as have many of our customers. But then again, many people favour golf or long country walks over motorsport. Just as well we are all different. That’s why Rose Calendars offer a selection of over 100 promotional calendars in a variety of categories, which hopefully includes a title for every taste – and budget.

For the adrenalin junkies, there is the spectacular Motorsport, a calendar covering all the premier motor sport events from around the world. Its stylish design and action photography make it a great and popular choice for an impressive corporate calendar. Not only is it visually appealing, it contains interesting information about the cars, teams and drivers as well. Of course, we do offer titles for the golf enthusiast and the keen hiker as well, but more about those another time.

For an idea on how diverse our calendar range is, please take a closer look at our 2010 calendars. If you would like assistance in choosing the right title for your business promotion, please contact us for some friendly and no obligation advice.

Last but by no means least: Congratulations, Jenson! You have done us proud.

£3 million, anyone?

09.07.09 in Sport

Today saw the start of one of the most prestigious golf events of the year, the Barclays Scottish Open.  Played on the magnificent Loch Lomond golf course, the tournament is classed as a highlight on the annual golfing calendar.  And with a total prize fund of £3 million, any winner will not only walk away with their head held high, but with their pockets lined, too.

Golf has always been a sport associated with money but also with beautiful settings and stunning scenery.  This is something that Rose Calendars have successfully captured in their promotional golf calendar Ultimate Golf, a title featuring spectacular images from the best and most challenging courses around the world.

If you are keen to communicate your company’s image, products and services in a memorable way, why not do so by choosing Ultimate Golf as one of your marketing tools.  Each business calendar can be overprinted with your very own advert, promoting your company name, your contact details, or indeed anything else you wish to communicate.

Promotional calendars might seem old-fashioned to some, but recent surveys have proven that they are still one of the most sought after business gifts and a very cost effective way to maintain existing and develop new business.  A lot of our customers confirm this every year.  Please take a look at our testimonial page, which includes some exciting case studies on how our customers have benefited hugely from using calendars as promotional tools, some gaining large contracts as a result.
We admit that using a corporate calendar like Ultimate Golf for your advertising might not necessarily turn you into a golf pro and we can’t guarantee it will rake in £3 million, but it is certain to raise your company profile and help you gain some valuable business.

Rose Calendars offer a large selection of calendar titles – please browse our 2010 calendars to see for yourself.  Please contact us if you would like more information on the stunning titles available or require help deciding which ones would best suit your corporate message.

Go, Jenson!

18.06.09 in Sport

Sunday, 21st June is this year’s longest day, also known as summer solstice, and marks the official beginning of summer – long awaited by most of us.  It is also the date of the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, a key event in the F1 calendar for 2009 and hopefully another win for Great Britain.

After Lewis Hamilton’s phenomenal success last year (unfortunately he only ranks 11th in the drivers championship so far this year), this season yet another British driver is making his mark.  Having won an incredible six out of seven races so far, Jenson Button is set to become another bright star on the F1 sky.  His performance has increased steadily since his F1 debut in 2000 and many people across the nation, including the F1 fans at Rose Calendars, are willing the likeable chap from Somerset to achieve a home win at Silverstone this Sunday.

The world of motor sport and fast cars is fascinating and adrenalin-fuelled, with many fans across the globe.  Recognising this, the Rose range of promotional calendars contains a number of titles for the car enthusiast, amongst them the spectacular Motor Sport, which contains a selection of stunning images from premier motor sport events around the world, including F1, World Rally, British Touring Car, MotoGP and British GT.  The stylish design and impressive photography are sure to excite any motor sports fan, and in addition every leaf features secondary images from the race and interesting information about cars, drivers and riders.

If your customers and prospects are adrenalin junkies, too, why not get on their side with a corporate calendar that will increase their heart rate every time they look at your ad!

Rose Calendars have been producing promotional calendars for over 100 years and offer a range that includes something for every taste.  If cars are not your thing, having a look at our complete range of 2010 calendars will give you an idea on what other business calendars are available.  Please contact us with any queries you may have – and let’s keep our fingers crossed for Jenson!

Third time lucky for Lowry

19.05.09 in Sport

The number three proved lucky indeed for Irish amateur golfer Shane Lowry, who continued his remarkable debut on this year’s European Tour by winning the Irish Open title on Sunday.  He struck luck on the third extra hole during his playoff against Robert Rock of England, having previously missed a three-foot putt to win on the last hole of the fourth round as he and Rock finished tied at 17-under 271.

Lowry is only the third amateur to win on the European Tour and the first amateur ever to win in his debut appearance.

For all the lovers of the “green sport”, the Rose range of promotional calendars contains a stunning title dedicated to it:  Ultimate Golf features a selection of spectacular images from some of the world’s finest and most challenging courses, together with fascinating and informative notes.  An ideal golf calendar for the enthusiast and the perfect marketing tool for any businesses related to the golf industry, from greenkeeping and course maintenance to suppliers of golf equipment and driving ranges.

The picture quality and overall high standard of their calendars have long been Rose’s trademark and helped us become one of the leading calendar manufacturers in the UK.  Targeted, useful and cost-effective, a personalised calendar is one of the strongest advertising tools there is.  Get your message seen, distribute it to the customers that matter most and those prospects that you’d like to convert into just such a customer.  A business calendar is a useful gift, which endorses your brand message and acts as your very own, personalised bill board.  All corporate calendars in the Rose range can be overprinted with your own advert, company name, logo and contact details.

If you would like to discuss your individual requirements, please contact Rose Calendars.  Please view our complete range of 2010 calendars here.
